This painting portrays a desolate life; it is how I felt much of the time. Suspended over the dark pit (Hell), feeling as though I would fall in and be lost forever. Many days I have felt I was already lost in that pit, so hopeless and dark was my mood. On a good day, I felt as though I were suspended above the pit by very thin lines disappearing into Heaven. So close to salvation, yet beyond my grasp, but not Gods. Exhausted and spent I sit in quiet surrender to what seems to be my fate.
