1995, oil on canvas - 36x48" This work is about a life that has never been fully lived or truly realized. It is about an existence in the mist between the light and darkness. Never truly awake and alive, or being able to find true rest and to sleep. Life starts with the feet coming out of the earth (birth). The body is light, but soon begins to darken. The light is consumed by darkness. This painting shows a life lived without joy (color).
