    In this painting, several things are going on. Much of the time I find myself feeling like I am in my grave, not quit dead, but about to be killed. I am pleading with God for life. Help me to live before I die. Death (the blackness behind me) is about to over take me and I feel powerless to stop it. I have been bound (the ropes) by pain and fear for so long,  As I am pleading with God, I fail to notice the ropes that have been so tight most of my life, are now loose.
